Emma Raducanu has responded to speculation about a possible romantic relationship with Carlos Alcaraz, confirming they are just "good friends". The denial came during a press conference ahead of Wimbledon, where she also announced their participation in the mixed doubles at the US Open later this year.

Rumors began circulating after Raducanu was seen supporting Alcaraz at the HSBC Championships at Queen's Club. When questioned about the nature of their relationship, Raducanu was direct: "We're just good friends." As the reporter attempted to move on, Raducanu playfully added, "Way to wrap up.”

The pair have recently practiced together, preparing for their mixed doubles debut at the US Open. "It was fun yesterday. We were both on court with Evian, just getting some volley practice ahead of New York. I'm really happy to be playing with him. We had a great time," Raducanu stated, highlighting their positive dynamic.
Raducanu also revealed that the initiative for the partnership came from Alcaraz himself. "Yes, he asked me. He asked me earlier on in the year, and I was very surprised, honoured, and excited," she explained.

Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, aims to regain consistency on the tour. Her Eastbourne Open campaign concluded with a loss to Maya Joint before the quarter-finals.
Alcaraz, the 2022 US Open champion, has continued his ascent in the tennis world. Fresh off his victory at the HSBC Championships, Alcaraz is set to compete at Wimbledon 2025, facing Fabio Fognini in the first round.
The US Open will mark the beginning of the Raducanu-Alcaraz mixed doubles partnership, opening a new chapter for both players.
