A recent video capturing Indian pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep engaging in a playful wrestling match with bowling coach Morne Morkel during a net session in Birmingham has gone viral.

Neither Arshdeep nor Akash Deep featured in the playing XI that suffered a five-wicket defeat at Headingley.

In a video shared by the BCCI, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh shed light on the story behind the intriguing visuals. According to Arshdeep, Morkel had a unique method for ending practice sessions.

“Morne had said that the moment our practice session ends, he will have a last move and he will pin me. Thereafter, there will be no practice,” Arshdeep explained.

He further added, “He has found a new way to call off the day and he was just showing us that.”

India currently trails the five-match series 0-1 after their loss at Headingley, despite initially being in a commanding position. England successfully chased down 371 runs on the final day of the first Test, securing a five-wicket victory.

It is speculated that pacer Jasprit Bumrah will participate in only three out of the five games to manage his workload.
