Rishabh Pant's Somersault Celebration Draws Reaction from His Doctor
Rishabh Pant's dynamic batting was a key feature of the first Test against England in Leeds, marked by two centuries. However, his post-century celebration has become a talking point.
Pant celebrates his century with a cartwheel.
Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, the surgeon who oversaw Pant's recovery after his serious car accident in December 2022, shared his thoughts on the viral celebration. Speaking to The Telegraph, Dr. Pardiwala noted, "Rishabh trained as a gymnast. Although he looks large, he is quite agile, and he does have a lot of flexibility. And, that’s why he’s been doing those somersaults of late. It’s a well-practised and perfected move — unnecessary though!”
Pant's return to cricket is a testament to his resilience. On December 30, 2022, he was involved in a car accident while driving from Delhi to Roorkee, resulting in significant injuries and a lengthy absence from the sport.
