Jasprit Bumrah, the world's leading Test bowler, recently featured on Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra's YouTube show 'Who's The Boss' alongside his wife, Sanjana Ganesan. The show's promo offered a glimpse into their relationship, revealing a humorous pre-marriage incident.
Sanjana Ganesan, a prominent sports presenter, recounted a moment when Bumrah suggested they elope before their wedding in March 2021. Her response was a witty retort: "Tum run-up per bhi nahi bhagte ho. Tum mere sath kya bhagoge?" (You don't even run during your run-up. So how will you run with me?).
On the field, Bumrah's participation in the second Test against England, scheduled from July 2 to 6 in Edgbaston, Birmingham, remains uncertain. The Indian team management has confirmed that he will only play three matches in the five-match series. The specific two Tests he will miss have not been disclosed.
During the first Test, Sunil Gavaskar had playfully requested Sanjana, who was the on-field presenter, to persuade Bumrah to play all five matches, following his impressive performance. However, the team management remained non-committal on the matter.
Bumrah's Test record in England showcases his prowess, with 42 wickets in nine matches. He currently holds the position of the third-highest wicket-taker for India in England, trailing behind Ishant Sharma and Kapil Dev.
Ishant Sharma tops the list with 48 wickets from 14 Tests, followed by Kapil Dev with 43 wickets in 13 Tests on English soil.
