Zimbabwe will play host to Sri Lanka in a series comprising two One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). All matches are scheduled to take place at the Harare Sports Club in Harare, commencing on August 29.
According to Givemore Makoni, the Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket, "We are delighted to confirm Sri Lanka's visit to Zimbabwe for what we expect to be a thrilling and competitive series."
The T20I series holds significant importance for the Zimbabwean team, serving as a crucial preparation phase for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final. This tournament, hosted by Zimbabwe and commencing on September 19, presents their opportunity to qualify for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2027.
Makoni further stated, "Matches between our two nations have always produced entertaining cricket, and this tour comes at a crucial time for our team as we prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifying campaign."
This series marks the beginning of a busy period for Zimbabwe, with two Test series' against South Africa and New Zealand, along with a T20I tri-series also featuring these two nations, scheduled over the next three months.
