Bollywood actress Esha Gupta has finally addressed the swirling rumors regarding her past connection with Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gupta clarified the nature of their relationship, putting an end to speculation.
Gupta revealed that they were in contact for a few months but emphasized that it never evolved into a serious dating relationship. She cited compatibility issues and poor timing as the primary reasons for their brief association ending before it could truly begin.
"Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don't think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months," Gupta stated.
She further elaborated on the limited extent of their meetings and the short duration of their communication.
"We were at that 'maybe it will happen, maybe it won't' stage. It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn't dating-dating. We met once or twice, that's it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended."
Gupta acknowledged the potential that existed but admitted that circumstances led to a swift conclusion. "Maybe it could have happened," she said, adding that "things fizzled out quickly."
The actress stressed that the end of their communication was amicable and free of complications.
"There was no drama or bitterness," she stated. "It just wasn't meant to be."
Gupta also touched upon Pandya's controversial appearance on Koffee With Karan in 2019, confirming that their communication had already ceased before the incident occurred.
"That part didn't affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then," she explained.
She revealed her decision to refrain from adding to the criticism surrounding the controversy.
"They were already going through enough. What good would it do if I jumped in with more criticism?" she said.
Currently, Hardik Pandya is not part of the Indian cricket team participating in the five-match Test tour of England. His next expected involvement with the Indian team is against Bangladesh in August.
