Jofra Archer has been named in England's squad for the second Test against India, marking his return to the Test arena.
The 30-year-old Archer is set to make his first Test appearance since February 2021. He could add to his 13 Test caps when England faces India at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 2.
Archer recently played red-ball cricket for Sussex against Durham in the County Championship. His last Test match was also against India in 2021. Since then, he has been plagued by injuries, including a back stress fracture. This kept him out of action until 2024, when he returned to white-ball cricket in May of that year.
The rest of the England squad remains unchanged from the first Test in Leeds. The hosts secured a five-wicket victory in that match.
The remaining three Tests of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 will be held at Lord's (July 10-14), Old Trafford in Manchester (July 23-27), and The Oval (July 31-August 4).
England Squad for 2nd Test:
Ben Stokes (C), Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes.
