Doordarshan, India's national broadcaster, is bringing the spiritual experience of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir directly to devotees' homes. Starting immediately, Doordarshan will telecast the morning aarti offered to the Ram Lalla idol live from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya every day.
The broadcast will be available on DD National every morning from 6:30 AM. This initiative aims to connect Lord Ram devotees, especially those unable to visit the temple in person following its inauguration. The live aarti will also be streamed on DD’s YouTube channel.
The decision to provide live coverage stems from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's current limitations in logistical arrangements for live broadcasts. Doordarshan will station a small crew at the temple to capture the daily ritual.
Initially, Doordarshan will air the "Mangala aarti" for a trial period of a few months. The Ram Temple Trust will then assess the arrangement and decide on future broadcasts.
The Ayodhya Ram Temple conducts six aartis daily:
The temple trust has issued guidelines for devotees attending aartis. Entry for Mangala Aarti (4:00 AM), Shringar Aarti (6:15 AM), and Shayan Aarti (10:00 PM) requires an entry pass. No passes are needed for the other aartis.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra has also issued an advisory for devotees planning to visit the temple:
