ChatGPT Suffers Global Disruption: Service Restored
ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot, experienced a global outage, leaving many users unable to access the service. Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, reported a surge in user reports indicating problems with accessing OpenAI's chatbot.
According to reports, approximately 91% of users encountered issues while trying to use ChatGPT. Around 7% of users were unable to access the website, while the remaining users faced problems logging into their accounts.
Frustrated users turned to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their concerns about the disruption.
OpenAI Acknowledges and Resolves the Issue
OpenAI's official status page acknowledged the outage, citing "increased latency and errors affecting both ChatGPT and APIs."
The good news is that the service has been restored, according to OpenAI's official status page. The latency issue has been resolved, and "Performance is now back to normal," the page stated.
The TOI Tech team confirmed the restoration by accessing ChatGPT through both the web and the mobile app. ChatGPT is now functioning without any apparent problems on both platforms.
